Suryaa teaser: Sunny Deol hunts the truth behind a daughter’s death

Sunny Deol plays a grieving police officer taking on the medical system in the teaser for Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak. It opens on 20 November 2026.

Sunny Deol investigates a daughter's death in Suryaa teaser

The first full teaser for Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak is here, and it wastes no time setting up a grim mission. Sunny Deol leads the film as a police officer and grieving father who begins with a family tragedy and ends up questioning the country’s medical system. The teaser follows the motion poster and gives fans a clear look at the film’s combative tone.

What the teaser shows

Sunny Deol’s character appears to lead a contented family life until his daughter’s death changes everything. The investigation that follows pushes him toward uncomfortable questions about doctors, tests and hospital bills. In one line from the teaser, he asks what a person should do when a doctor, someone trusted like god, breaks that trust.

Another hard-hitting line targets the business side of healthcare: “Doctors don’t write prescriptions there, they write their commissions.” The teaser asks how long people will keep tolerating that system. Glimpses of Ravi Kishan and Soumya Tandon also appear, while the fuller cast includes Pragya Jaiswal, Tinu Anand, Manish Wadhwa, Jisshu Sengupta and several others.

A Hindi debut with a familiar source

Suryaa is directed by M Padmakumar and produced by Kamal Mukut. It is said to be a remake of the 2018 Malayalam film Joseph, which starred Joju George and was also directed by Padmakumar, so the filmmaker is returning to material he knows closely, this time for his Hindi directorial debut.

The film is described as being based on real events, and the teaser leans into that realism with a medical-thriller setup rather than a pure action revenge story. That could give Sunny Deol a different register from his recent big-screen work.

Why it matters for fans

Producer Kamal Mukut has framed Suryaa as the other half of his Sunny Deol bet. He signed the actor for Gadar 2 and Suryaa, and after Gadar 2 became a blockbuster, this becomes the follow-up that has to prove the pairing can work outside that franchise’s nostalgia.

  • Sunny Deol plays a police officer and grieving father, not just an action hero.
  • The story targets medical malpractice, high bills and needless tests.
  • Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak opens in cinemas on 20 November 2026.
  • The film is M Padmakumar’s Hindi debut and a likely remake of Joseph.

Mukut says the film will show a “never-before-seen avatar” of Sunny Deol across three phases of his life, with the thriller moving between two different eras. That scale, plus a socially pointed theme, is what the team is betting on.

What to watch next

For fans of the 2018 Malayalam original, the teaser is an early test of how faithfully the Hindi version keeps Joseph‘s emotional weight. For everyone else, it is a first check on whether the film can balance a family tragedy with a sharp commentary on healthcare. The teaser is live now, and the theatrical release is set for 20 November 2026.
