Shriya Saran Filmed Drishyam 3 on Day Father Had Spine Surgery

Shriya Saran reveals she filmed a key Drishyam The Conclusion courtroom scene while arranging her father's spine surgery, and shot on the day of his operation.

Shriya Saran shot Drishyam 3 while coordinating her father's surgery

Shriya Saran has closed the book on the Hindi Drishyam trilogy with a memory that was as demanding off camera as it was on it. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the actor said her final schedule for Drishyam The Conclusion forced her to balance a key courtroom scene with urgent calls about her father’s health.

A farewell eleven years in the making

The trilogy, led by Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar, ended with the final instalment on October 2, 2026. Shriya, who plays Vijay’s wife Nandini, has been part of the franchise since the first Hindi film in 2015, then returned for Drishyam 2 in 2022.

On the last day of the shoot, she said, the cast and crew knew they would not return. During a photoshoot, when the wrap was announced, Shriya recalled tearing up.

Filming through a family health crisis

The final schedule became harder when her father needed spine surgery and was struggling to walk. Shriya said she was working on an important courtroom scene at that time and was simultaneously phoning doctors and trying to arrange hospital care.

On the day of the operation, production could not cancel the shoot because permits were already in place. Her father went into the operating theatre and told her, “Just go and shoot.” The actor described the period as difficult on personal and emotional levels.

The road to the conclusion

  • 2015: The Hindi Drishyam begins, and Shriya debuts as Nandini Salgaonkar.
  • 2022: Drishyam 2 brings the family’s secret back.
  • 2026: Drishyam The Conclusion releases on October 2, closing the trilogy.

For viewers, the courtroom scene takes on added weight: the actor was carrying one of the hardest off-screen situations of the shoot while delivering it. It is a reminder that the calm faces on screen often arrive with a story of their own.
