After finding his footing with Saiyaara, Shaan R Grover is moving into bigger company. The actor has joined the cast of Tum Mere Ho, Ashish Panda’s romantic drama, where he will share the screen with Gurmeet Choudhary and Isha Malviya.
An AD’s call, then the music took over
Shaan’s entry into the film did not begin with a typical audition round. A member of director Ashish Panda’s team, who had seen and liked his work in Saiyaara, reached out to him. From there, Shaan says, two things closed the deal: the film’s music and its storyline.
‘The music and the storyline is what actually really drew me to the film,’ he said. He added, ‘Music along with a strong screenplay is the soul of any film, and I’ve been very lucky in that department with Saiyaara as well.’
The role is being described as pivotal, and Shaan says it is distinctly different from anything audiences have seen him play so far. For a romantic drama like this, music tends to do the early marketing; it makes sense that a strong score interested him as much as the part itself.
Gurmeet’s vote mattered
One detail worth noting for fans: Gurmeet Choudhary is not only the film’s lead. He is a producer on Tum Mere Ho, and Shaan says that made a difference. In his words, Gurmeet is ‘grounded, sensible, honest and very hardworking,’ and he credited him as one of the reasons he was locked for the part.
For an actor coming off a smaller success, a co-star who is also a producer is a meaningful ally. It is a small but telling example of how Bollywood casting often works: a performer’s recent work catches the attention of a crew member, and a co-star’s backing turns an opening into an offer.
Where fans can catch it
The film’s trailer is already out, teasing a story of love and heartbreak, so the first glimpse of Shaan’s character is available now. For those who missed him earlier:
