Ramayana confirms Nov 5 release; bookings open on Dussehra

Ramayana: Part One locks November 5 worldwide, ahead of Diwali, with advance bookings opening on Dussehra, October 20. US listings show a shorter English cut.

Ramayana Part 1: Nov 5 worldwide, advance bookings from Dussehra

Ramayana: Part One now has one release date, not two. The team behind Nitesh Tiwari’s two-part epic confirmed on October 11 that the film will hit theatres worldwide on November 5, 2026, ahead of Diwali, across all premium formats.

What the makers confirmed

Alongside a new poster, the announcement put an end to the Diwali date confusion. Earlier chatter had pointed to a November 8 release; the official word now is November 5 worldwide.

The poster places Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Ravi Dubey in the foreground as Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshman, while Yash towers behind them as Ravana. The caption read, “Yeh Ram ke Yug ka Aarambh hai”, and confirmed that advance bookings open on Dussehra, October 20.

  • Worldwide release: November 5, 2026, before Diwali
  • Advance bookings: open October 20, on Dussehra
  • Formats: all premium formats

Why the booking window matters

Opening the advance sale on Dussehra gives the audience a specific, festive moment to act. Instead of guessing whether the film would arrive on Diwali, fans can now plan premium-format tickets two weeks before release.

That matters for a film built on scale. Ramayana: Part One is produced by Namit Malhotra, with visual effects by DNEG and music by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman. It is designed as a big-screen spectacle, so the premium-formats line is not a small detail.

The film behind the date

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana: Part One is mounted as a two-part epic. Sunny Deol plays Hanuman, while Ravi Dubey appears as Lakshman. That cast, along with DNEG’s visual effects and a Hans Zimmer-AR Rahman score, sets up the kind of event release where opening-weekend screens and premium shows are likely to fill fast on day one.

Add the festive release timing, and this is a title audiences may book on impulse once tickets go live. A Dussehra on-sale date gives the campaign a natural moment to convert anticipation into booked seats.

Two runtimes for US viewers

For American fans, the choice may be more than just a showtime. According to Variety India, AMC listings show the Hindi version at 3 hours and 15 minutes, while the English cut, titled Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, runs 2 hours and 45 minutes — 30 minutes shorter. Both versions are set for November 5 in the US.

The makers have not yet commented on whether the two versions differ beyond runtime. Until they do, US audiences should check the runtime carefully before booking, because the cut they pick could shape how much of the epic they see.

What to do next

Set a reminder for October 20 if you want the first premium-format shows. If you are booking in the US, check the listed runtime and version name before confirming. For everyone else, the date is now locked: November 5, before Diwali.
