Ramayana Advance Booking Hits Rs 1.53 Crore, Hindi 3D Leads

Opening-day advance booking gross for Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana has touched Rs 1.53 crore, with Hindi 3D shows contributing 76% and Mumbai leading city sales.

Ramayana advance booking reaches Rs 1.53 crore

Advance sales for Ramayana have started to move a little over two weeks ahead of the film’s November 5, 2026 release. Data from trade tracker Sacnilk puts opening-day advance booking gross at Rs 1.53 crore, with the Hindi version doing most of the heavy lifting.

The headline number includes block bookings. Strip those out and the collection stands at Rs 63.32 lakh, which makes it easier to see how much individual moviegoers have actually paid so far. For a film of this scale, that is an early glow rather than a final verdict.

Where the bookings are coming from

Maharashtra leads the state chart with Rs 57.09 lakh, followed by Gujarat at Rs 17.87 lakh and Delhi at Rs 15.10 lakh. The concentration is sharp:

  • Maharashtra: Rs 57.09 lakh, over a third of the early gross
  • Gujarat: Rs 17.87 lakh
  • Delhi: Rs 15.10 lakh

Mumbai is the top city with Rs 39.46 lakh, ahead of NCR at Rs 15.10 lakh and Ahmedabad at Rs 12.25 lakh. The top 10 states account for 95% of the reported advance gross, and the top 10 cities for 74%. Urban centres, in other words, are setting the opening-day pace.

The format effect: 3D and premium screens

Hindi 3D shows have collected Rs 1.16 crore, which is 76% of the total advance booking gross. Premium formats such as IMAX, 4DX, Dolby, ICE and EPIQ make up just 6% of shows but 17% of the gross, a reminder that higher ticket prices can make a small number of shows disproportionately important to collections.

The language split is still one-sided in the early data. Hindi screenings have generated Rs 1.39 crore across 1,351 shows, while Kannada shows stand at Rs 12.90 lakh across 61 shows, with Bengaluru contributing Rs 9.58 lakh of that.

What it tells us before release

Ramayana is planned as a two-part project from Prime Focus Studios, DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi plays Sita, Yash plays Ravana and Sunny Deol appears as Hanuman. The second part is set for Diwali 2027.

The premium share matters because a family audience may choose 3D and large-screen formats for an event film like this. If that pattern holds, the opening day could be shaped less by the number of shows and more by which formats theatres have kept for the epic. That makes the release plan a useful case in how event films convert spectacle into sales.

For now, advance bookings are an opening signal, not the full picture. The real test starts when the film reaches cinemas: word of mouth, reviews and the weekend trend will decide whether this early 3D-heavy demand becomes a durable run.
