A big total ten days early
Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Part One has crossed ₹20 crore in global advance bookings as of October 25, ten days before the film’s November 5 release. The figure is built on a strong India start — ₹10 crore and more than 2 lakh opening-day tickets sold — plus steady overseas demand.
Advance sales opened 15 days before release around Dussehra. After a bumper first day, the pace cooled, but the current trend is still positive. Hindi is doing most of the work domestically, accounting for about 87% of the advance total.
Where the momentum is shifting
Kannada and Telugu shows are only now beginning to open, and early signs point to heavy demand in the south. The Kannada version has crossed ₹1 crore from around 100 screens, with some centres reporting up to 80% occupancy in morning shows.
Telugu is even more striking. With only 10–15 screens live so far, the version is closing in on ₹40 lakh, and four of the 44 Telugu shows tracked by Sacnilk are already houseful. On-the-ground tracking suggests the houseful count across languages could be higher once blocked seats are included.
- Worldwide advance gross: over ₹20 crore
- India advance gross: ₹10 crore
- Domestic opening-day tickets: 2 lakh+
- Hindi share of pre-sales: 87%
- North America paid previews: $550K for November 4
- Other overseas release-day sales: $400K
Overseas, North America has sold $550,000 worth of tickets for paid previews on November 4, the eve of release. Another $400,000 has come from release-day ticket sales in overseas territories. That lifts the worldwide pre-sales total past ₹20 crore.
Why this matters
The early split is worth watching. Hindi is leading, but the south has barely opened. With only a few hundred regional shows live compared with more than 4,200 Hindi shows on day one, the full demand picture is still forming. If Telugu and Kannada audiences keep filling limited counters, the next ten days could look very different.
For fans, the practical move is simple: in languages where screens are scarce, book as soon as counters open. In North America, the paid previews on November 4 are the first chance to see the film. The two-part saga has been produced by Prime Focus Studios with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Sony Pictures is handling global distribution outside India, while Dharma Productions is distributing in the Hindi market, with a worldwide IMAX release planned.
The second part is scheduled for Diwali 2027. The first part stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman.
