Nayyi Navelli Box Office: Rs 11.65 Crore Opening Weekend

Yami Gautam's horror-comedy Nayyi Navelli ends its first three days with Rs 11.65 crore domestic net and Rs 15.88 crore worldwide gross.

Nayyi Navelli Nets Rs 11.65 Crore Opening Weekend

Yami Gautam’s horror-comedy Nayyi Navelli has closed its first three days with a stable but modest opening. On Day 3 the film added Rs 4.40 crore net in India, according to Sacnilk, taking its domestic net total to Rs 11.65 crore. Its worldwide gross is Rs 15.88 crore.

The weekend, in numbers

Day 3 ran across 5,546 shows in India. The first-three-day picture:

  • India net, Day 3: Rs 4.40 crore
  • India net, first three days: Rs 11.65 crore
  • India gross, first three days: Rs 13.88 crore
  • Overseas gross, first three days: Rs 2 crore
  • Worldwide gross, first three days: Rs 15.88 crore

Overseas, Day 3 contributed Rs 0.50 crore, taking the international gross to Rs 2 crore. That is a minor but real contribution for a Hindi title built on regional mythology and family dynamics, and it helped push the worldwide number past Rs 15 crore.

The tally puts Nayyi Navelli among Yami Gautam’s top 10 opening weekend performers. But the growth stayed limited for a film on this many screens, so the first draft is “stable”, not “breakout”.

Why the weekday test matters

For a mid-budget horror-comedy, the weekend is only half the story. A wide release with a modest climb usually needs Monday and Tuesday to hold. Domestic net is the standard box office measure after tax deductions, and the Monday hold is the clearest early signal of word of mouth. If weekday drops stay controlled, Nayyi Navelli gets a real second-weekend shot. A steep fall would leave the top-10 opening as the main headline rather than the start of a longer run.

This is the familiar mid-budget line between a film being in trouble and being merely average. The opening is workable; the audience verdict is not yet in. Without a budget, it is too early to call the film a success or a loss, so the top-10 placement is a foot in the door, not a verdict.

The film that now needs a weekday win

Directed by Balaji Mohan in his Bollywood directorial debut and written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma, Nayyi Navelli is set in Meerut. Yami Gautam plays Mohini, a newlywed bride whose arrival changes the household and whose unusual abilities make her brother-in-law wonder if something supernatural is at work. The film blends horror, comedy and regional mythology, with a Ram-Ravan-inspired conflict running through the family story.

Alongside Yami Gautam, the cast includes Addinath M. Kothare, Mita Vashisht, Sunita Rajwar, Sonal Jha and Sushmita Mukherjee. The film released in theatres on October 16, 2026.

Horror-comedies in Hindi have often relied on controlled budgets and word of mouth rather than huge opening days. Nayyi Navelli‘s challenge is whether its Ram-Ravan-flavoured family hook can pull enough weekday walk-ins once the initial Yami Gautam audience has already shown up.

For fans, the coming weekdays are a practical window to catch the film before exhibitors adjust screen counts. For the trade, Tuesday’s number will set the tone for the second-weekend conversation.
