The third couch turns chaotic
Karan Johar released the promo for the third episode of Koffee With Karan 9 on Saturday, and it looks less like a formal chat than a reunion with the volume turned up. Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor are the guests, and Karan sets the mood early by warning that they will not be “sanskari” this time.
The teaser moves fast: Varun tells Karan he became “Bachchan from K3G,” Janhvi breaks into an impromptu dance, and the two make it clear that old jokes will not be left at the door. Karan teases that “things will just happen,” and the promo quickly proves him right. Janhvi gasps at the introduction, Varun asks “Daughter you doing?” as she dances, and the segment spirals from mock insults to movie references.
Arjun Kapoor arrives as the twist
Halfway through the promo, Karan announces a surprise, and Arjun Kapoor walks in with a one-liner ready. He joins the rapid-fire round, where Varun names him as the contemporary he would take both marriage and career advice from. The exchange becomes exactly the kind of affectionate ribbing that works because the guests are comfortable enough to push each other.
There is also a buzzer challenge. Asked about films in which the lead actress has a double role, Varun fires off titles without missing a beat. It suggests the episode will balance personal jokes with Bollywood trivia.
What the promo promises
Since Karan has positioned this season as the last one for the show, each episode arrives with a farewell energy. The promo offers plenty for fans to look forward to:
- Playful friction: Varun and Janhvi keep Karan on the defensive from the first minute.
- A surprise guest: Arjun Kapoor joins for the rapid-fire segment and brings his own jabs.
- Trivia and chaos: A buzzer round and an unplanned dance keep the format lively.
Why this matters for fans
Koffee With Karan has always worked best when the couch feels like a reunion rather than an interview. The promo leans into that looseness: Varun’s K3G comparison, Janhvi’s reaction to being “attacked,” and her quick pick of Ravi Kishan as an Instagram account that is “giving” are ready-made clips.
With Arjun Kapoor on board, the rapid fire could become the episode’s most rewatched stretch. The full episode will show how far the jokes go and whether the buzzer round produces more trivia gems.
