Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela’s untitled romantic musical has a date with cinemas: April 30, 2027. The Anurag Basu-directed film is produced by T-Series, with Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar attached as producers and Pritam composing the music.
A first-time pairing and a Bollywood debut
The project is Kartik and Sreeleela’s first on-screen collaboration. For Sreeleela it is also her first Hindi film lead, after building a career in Telugu and Kannada cinema. Hindi-speaking audiences got a wider introduction to her through the Pushpa 2 track Kissik.
Promotional glimpses have shown Kartik in a rugged rockstar or singer look, guitar in hand, with early visuals of his pairing with Sreeleela. With Anurag Basu at the helm and Pritam on the score, the film’s pitch leans heavily on the idea that the music is part of the narrative, not a break from it. The makers have described it as an original love story built around music, and have clarified it is not part of the Aashiqui franchise. The reported title Tu Meri Zindagi Hai is still to be confirmed.
Why the date matters
Release-date placement does a lot of early work for a film, especially a song-led romance. April 30, 2027 gives the film some room before the next wave of releases.
- SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi, with Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, opens on April 7, 2027.
- The next major releases, Lag Jaa Gale and DADA, are scheduled for May 14, 2027.
- That leaves nearly three weeks after the big April tentpole and two weeks before the next cluster.
For a film that is introducing a new female lead to Hindi cinema and selling itself on music, a clear window can let the songs and the pairing build word of mouth without being crowded out.
What to watch next
The announcement is a calendar marker, not a title reveal. With Pritam’s score central to the film’s positioning, the next likely steps are an official title, a first poster and a song drop. For now, the date tells fans when to expect Anurag Basu’s musical universe to start its campaign in earnest.
For Sreeleela, the date also sets a timeline for one of the more closely watched Bollywood debuts currently on the slate, opposite a star who has made romantic and song-heavy roles his commercial lane.
