The Hindi release of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is on, and the makers have moved quickly to say so. On Monday, the film’s publicist issued a statement on behalf of the team, dismissing reports that the sequel would skip Hindi theatres.
The clarification lands just days before the film is scheduled to open on Thursday, October 15, 2026. In a market as important as North India, even a short-lived rumour about a missing Hindi version could confuse audiences and dent advance planning.
“There has been no change to the scheduled Hindi theatrical release,” the makers said through their publicist.
What the statement confirmed
The Hindi version of Jailer 2 will arrive on October 15, 2026, alongside all other language versions, exactly as originally planned. The statement named Pen Marudhar Entertainment as the distributor for North India.
It also asked media outlets and platforms to note the clarification and to avoid circulating unverified information about the release. In a fast-moving release week, that official on-the-record confirmation gives fans and exhibitors something solid to quote.
Why the Hindi date matters
For Hindi-speaking fans, the statement confirms a day-and-date release: the sequel will open in Hindi at the same time as its other language versions, not later. That removes any fear of a staggered or delayed rollout and lets audiences plan opening-day shows confidently.
The original Jailer was a 2023 blockbuster, so the sequel enters with high expectations. Multi-language releases depend on coordination, and a clear simultaneous Hindi plan keeps the release rhythm intact across territories.
Pen Marudhar Entertainment’s involvement is a useful signal for the trade. When a distribution partner is named in the same breath as the release date, it tells exhibitors that the Hindi rollout is not being improvised. Hindi circuits can plan screens and showtimes around a confirmed day-one title.
Jailer 2 essentials
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, the film brings Rajinikanth back as retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, pulled into another dangerous confrontation involving criminal networks and threats to his family.
- Cast: Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, S J Suryah and Suraj Venjaramoodu.
- Music: Anirudh Ravichander returns as composer.
- Release: October 15, 2026, with Pen Marudhar Entertainment handling North India distribution.
The trailer promises large-scale action, dark humour and dramatic confrontations. Rajinikanth has said he agreed to the sequel because the original film left room for the story to continue.
Because Jailer 2 brings together actors from Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada industries, its Hindi version matters beyond the core Rajinikanth audience. A simultaneous release lets the film ride the same opening-day conversation across languages, rather than arriving late to the discussion.
