Bollywood’s biggest travelling awards weekend has named its next stop. The 27th edition of the IIFA Weekend and Awards will be held on January 22 and 23, 2027, at Etihad Arena on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island.
The announcement is being made today, Thursday, October 22, at the IIFA 2027 press conference in Mumbai, where stars are arriving and the official run-up to the next edition is beginning.
The 2027 plan at a glance
This will be the fourth time IIFA has returned to Yas Island, adding another chapter to the event’s international legacy. The two-day celebration is expected to bring together prominent names from the Indian film industry on an international stage.
- Dates: January 22 and 23, 2027
- Venue: Etihad Arena, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi
- Milestone: Fourth time on Yas Island
- What’s expected: Known hosts, performances and fresh faces making their IIFA debut
Yas Island has become a repeat destination for the awards weekend, which makes the travel side easier to picture for fans who want to attend in person.
Why the Abu Dhabi return matters
For Hindi cinema fans, IIFA is one of the few awards properties that takes Bollywood to a global venue rather than a fixed Mumbai stage. Returning to Yas Island for a fourth time signals that Abu Dhabi has become a familiar, repeatable destination in the industry’s awards calendar.
That means more than a venue change. It gives fans a clear location to plan around, turns the red carpet into an international moment, and creates a two-day window for cinema visibility beyond India. Awards weekends like this now work as multi-day fan events, not just a trophy night.
What to watch next
Today’s press conference is the first official checkpoint, not the final line-up. The more interesting updates — who will host, which performers will take the stage, and which fresh faces will make their IIFA debut — are still expected to follow.
If you have ever wanted to catch an awards weekend live, keep the January 22-23 weekend in mind and follow official announcements as the details roll out.
