Anand Pandit-Pushkar Jog's 8th collab turns Hindi with Ghanti

Producer Anand Pandit and actor-director-producer Pushkar Jog are moving their creative partnership into the Hindi market. Their new comedy, Ghanti, has completed its shoot in the United Kingdom, the makers announced. The project is the duo’s eighth collaboration and their first co-production in Hindi.

Ghanti is produced under Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Jog’s Goosebumps Entertainment. The two have collaborated before on Marathi cinema, but this film marks a deliberate step into a larger language market.

The team and the milestone

Jog directs the film, with Sharman Joshi, Shonali Nagrani, Rajesh Kumar and Resham Tipnis leading the cast. Pandit and Jog’s earlier work together includes the Marathi titles Well Done Baby, Victoria, Baap Manus and Musafiraa.

For Pandit, the film is built on that track record. In a statement, he said, “Our eighth collaboration with Pushkar and Goosebumps Entertainment is also a milestone for us, reflecting the creative trust we have built over the years.”

“Good comedy often comes from ordinary situations that take completely unexpected turns. With Ghanti, we wanted to back a story that embraces the absurd and gives its characters the freedom to surprise audiences.”

The comedy of a simple plan unwinding

Written by Rachita Kapoor and Abid Hussain, the film centres on a caretaker who quietly intends to rent out an empty farmhouse. Things change when a line of guests begins arriving, and his effort to keep their secrets under wraps pushes the story into unpredictable territory.

Jog said the comedy comes from the pile-up. “The fun of Ghanti lies in watching a simple plan unravel as new characters enter the picture and find themselves caught in increasingly unpredictable and hilarious situations,” he said. The UK setting, he added, gave the film room to build its own comic chaos.

Why the Hindi crossover matters

Pandit has backed films across Marathi and Gujarati cinema, and this project brings that regional experience into Hindi. The move reflects the increasingly blurred boundaries between language industries and the wider reach Indian films can now chase across linguistic markets.

For Bollywood fans, that blend—Marathi producing experience, a Hindi-language cast and a UK shoot—makes Ghanti a comedy to track once the release plan is locked. It also extends the producer’s stated belief that good stories, not language, determine how far a film travels.

The off-camera team is in place:

  • Producers: Anand Pandit, Roopa Pandit and Pushkar Jog
  • Co-producers: Mohit Chhabra & Co., Ankur Sachdev, Nilesh Gavand and Rahul V Dubey
  • Director of photography: Nikhil Ranade
  • Music: Saii Piyush
  • Costume design: Ankita Deshmukh
  • Production design and costume supervision: Kimberley Hodgkiss

No release date has been announced yet, but with the UK shoot complete, the comedy moves into post-production.
