Drop Out streams on BookMyShow; Prime next

The Hindi feature film Drop Out has started its streaming run on BookMyShow Stream today, adding a second digital window before its Amazon Prime Video date goes live.

Produced by Umashanker Yadav under the Serene Films banner and distributed by Augmentus Technologies, the film arrived in theatres across major Indian cities on May 29, 2026. The makers say all remaining formalities for the Prime Video release are complete, and the date will be announced soon.

A festival moment before the next platform

Before that date is revealed, Drop Out takes a place at the 11th Ahmedabad International Literature Festival (AILF), scheduled for October 24 and 25, 2026, at The Ummed Ahmedabad. Yadav, who is also Founder Director of AILF, sees the association as a chance to bring cinema and literature together around stories that inspire and prompt reflection.

What the film and festival bring together

Drop Out is positioned as an inspirational story about the challenges, aspirations and choices confronting young people. That focus aligns with the festival’s youth conversations, and it gives the title a wider audience beyond its theatrical run.

  • BookMyShow Stream: live from October 16, 2026
  • Amazon Prime Video: release date to be announced; formalities completed
  • Theatrical run: May 29, 2026, across major Indian cities
  • AILF 2026: October 24 and 25 at The Ummed Ahmedabad

This year’s festival theme is “Literature & the Echoes of Joy – The Stories That Heal, Inspire and Redefine Joy.” Around 60 speakers from India and abroad are expected, with international participation listed from Russia, Vietnam, Mali, Iraq, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

The speaker list includes Padma Shri Kumarpal Desai, filmmakers and writers Sanjay Chhel and Umesh Shukla, filmmaker Abhishek Shah, Gaurav Dwivedi, Telugu writer P. Lalita Kumari (Volga), Dr. Manjula Pooja Shroff, V. S. Gadhvi, Manoj Aggarwal and Ajay Chaudhry.

Organised by the Ikon Education Foundation, AILF began in 2016 and has completed ten editions. For Hindi film fans, the run shows how a smaller theatrical title can find a longer life through streaming and a well-matched festival platform.
