Ajay Devgn’s crime thriller Drishyam 3 has crossed ₹327.96 crore net in India, but its second Wednesday was the slowest day of its run so far. According to Sacnilk figures cited by Hindustan Times, the film added ₹4.46 crore on day 13, just before Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is set to enter theatres nationwide.
The ride from record start to midweek dip
Drishyam 3 opened at ₹66.75 crore net, the biggest opening day of Ajay Devgn’s career and the third-highest opening day for a Hindi film. The first week closed at ₹245.50 crore, and the thriller crossed ₹300 crore within ten days.
- Opening day: ₹66.75 crore net
- Sunday peak: ₹61 crore, the best single day of the run
- First week: ₹245.50 crore
- Day 13: ₹4.46 crore, the lowest single day
- Total after 13 days: ₹327.96 crore net
The weekday pattern has been cooling since the first Monday, when the film collected ₹21 crore—roughly 65.6 percent below Sunday. Tuesday and Wednesday of week one brought ₹19.50 crore and ₹15.50 crore respectively.
Why this number matters
For Devgn, the total is already historic. Drishyam 3 has become the highest-grossing film of his career, helped by positive reviews from both critics and audiences. But the run beyond the second week now hinges on how much screen space it can hold.
Jailer 2 is shaping up to be a much bigger competitor. The trade update reports the Rajinikanth sequel is aiming for about ₹140 crore on its release day alone, and by Wednesday morning its advance bookings had passed ₹80 crore worldwide for the opening weekend. That kind of demand usually forces exhibitors to reallocate shows.
