3 Hindi Releases This Week: Ramayana to Haiwaan

Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana arrives in cinemas on November 5, alongside Netflix's Diwali Diwali and Priyadarshan's Haiwaan on SonyLIV this week.

3 Hindi releases this week, led by Ramayana

The first full week of November gives Hindi film fans a rare triple: a mythological epic in cinemas, a festive family comedy on Netflix, and an action thriller on SonyLIV. The theatrical headline is Ramayana: Part 1, but the streaming platforms are not sitting the week out.

Ramayana takes the big screen

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1 opens in theatres worldwide on November 5. The film follows Lord Ram’s 14-year exile with Sita and Lakshman, and the turn their forest journey takes when Ravana abducts Sita — setting the stage for an epic battle between good and evil.

The cast is built for scale: Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol, Anupam Kher and Kajal Aggarwal. For audiences, this is the week’s only title designed for the theatrical screen, and it is best experienced where its forests, battles and scale can fill the frame.

The release slate at a glance

  • Ramayana: Part 1 — cinemas, November 5
  • Diwali Diwali — Netflix, November 5
  • Haiwaan — SonyLIV, November 6

Diwali Diwali streams from November 5

Ritesh Menon’s Diwali Diwali is a Hindi family comedy arriving on Netflix. Mihir Ahuja, Manoj Pahwa, Neelu Kohli and Aurra Bhatnagar lead the story of a young man who returns home for Diwali and finds himself caught between generations, unspoken emotions and clashing expectations.

Haiwaan follows on SonyLIV

Priyadarshan’s Haiwaan premieres on SonyLIV on November 6. The action thriller stars Akshay Kumar as the negative lead and Saif Ali Khan as a blind father trying to save his daughter from a psycho; Mohanlal makes a guest appearance. Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Boman Irani round out the cast.

Why the weekend works

From an industry view, a large global theatrical release sharing the window with two OTT premieres is not an accident — it is the current reality of Hindi film distribution. Theatres get the spectacle; platforms get the audiences who prefer to stay home. For fans, the only decision is the order in which to watch.

This is a useful window for Hindi film fans because it spans the full range of viewing. Ramayana is the theatre-first pick; Diwali Diwali is a festive watch that fits the season; Haiwaan is the high-intensity streaming option after the weekend rush. If you are booking one ticket, make it Ramayana. The two streaming titles can wait for the evening or a quiet Sunday at home.
