Hindi feature Drop Out has begun its digital run. The film is now streaming on BookMyShow Stream from October 16, and an Amazon Prime Video release is being finalised, according to a press release carried by ANI.
The film, produced by Umashanker Yadav under the Serene Films banner and distributed by Augmentus Technologies, released theatrically across major Indian cities on May 29. It follows the challenges, aspirations and choices facing young people.
A second window, then a festival stage
The producers say all other formalities for the Prime Video release are complete, though no date has been announced yet. The film is also headed to the 11th Ahmedabad International Literature Festival (AILF), scheduled for October 24 and 25 at The Ummed Ahmedabad.
The festival’s theme this year is “Literature & the Echoes of Joy – The Stories That Heal, Inspire and Redefine Joy.” Around 60 speakers from India and abroad are expected, with international participants from Russia, Vietnam, Mali, Iraq, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Speakers include Padma Shri Kumarpal Desai, Sanjay Chhel, Umesh Shukla, Abhishek Shah, Volga, and others.
Why this matters for fans
For a smaller Hindi film, moving from a theatrical release to multiple digital platforms and a literature festival is a pragmatic way to stay visible. It also places the film in front of a slightly different audience: festival-goers interested in stories about youth, education and aspiration.
- Watch it now: BookMyShow Stream has the film from October 16.
- Next platform: Amazon Prime Video, date to be announced.
- Festival screening: AILF 2026 on October 24-25 in Ahmedabad.
Producer and AILF founder director Umashanker Yadav said he saw the association as a way to bring cinema and literature together through stories that “inspire, engage and encourage reflection.” He added, “each new platform offers an opportunity to reach more people and create a deeper connection with audiences.”
The festival, an initiative of the Ikon Education Foundation, began in 2016 and is now in its 11th edition.
