Kiss Ka Kissa: real-life couple set for October 22 release

Landmarc Entertainment has set a release date for Kiss Ka Kissa, a Hindi short film that turns an everyday Mumbai problem into a love story. The film stars Priyanshu Painyuli and Vandana Joshi, a real-life couple, and will arrive on October 22, 2026.

Set in Mumbai, the story follows two people who stay connected by phone all day but struggle to find uninterrupted minutes together. The short treats that gap as both comic and romantic material: a simple kiss, in a city where privacy is scarce, becomes an adventure.

Why this pairing matters

Vidhi Kasliwal, who leads Landmarc Entertainment, says the film drew her because of its simplicity. In her words, “We often associate romance with grand gestures, but sometimes the smallest moments carry the deepest emotions.” That belief is also built into the casting: Painyuli and Joshi bring an off-screen familiarity to the roles.

Who is behind Kiss Ka Kissa

Ashish Sharma has written and directed the short in his fiction debut. He arrives from more than a decade of advertising films, music videos and branded storytelling. The project is presented by Landmarc Entertainment and produced under its Landmarc Films banner.

  • Written and directed by Ashish Sharma
  • Creative producer: Aarti Bagdi
  • Director of photography: Vikrant Thakur
  • Editor: Puloma Pal
  • Music, lyrics and background score: Sarthak Karkare
  • Casting: Prince Kumar, Casting Cubicle
  • Executive producer: K. R. Mahadevan [Mohan]

Kasliwal has handled production and creative direction on the title. Before her writing and directorial debut with Isi Life Mein, she worked with Rajshri Productions alongside Sooraj R. Barjatya.

What the film is after

Ashish Sharma says he wanted to make the film for two reasons: “the little romantic dreams we carry from our younger days, and the joy of telling a simple, feel-good story.” The title looks beyond the kiss itself to the circumstances around it, from interrupted moments to unfinished dreams.

For Hindi cinema fans, the short arrives as a small-canvas alternative to big, grand romance. It leans on a familiar couple, a relatable city and a tone that celebrates spontaneity. Sharma says he hopes it leaves audiences smiling and remembering their own little unfinished romantic stories.

Landmarc’s next chapter

The announcement also signals a wider expansion at Landmarc. Over 15 years, the company has built a slate that includes Sanngto Aika, Vazandar, Ringan, Gachchi, Redu, Pipsi, Nashibvaan and Medium Spicy. It is now transitioning into Landmarc Entertainment, with three initial verticals: Landmarc Films, Landmarc Melodies and Landmarc Digital.

For a short film, that context matters. It suggests Kiss Ka Kissa is an early step in a broader push into new storytelling formats and new voices, not a one-off curiosity.
