Jailer 2 Hindi Grosses ₹0.57 cr by Noon; Tops Jailer Day 1

Jailer 2's Hindi version earned ₹0.57 crore by 12:30 pm on Day 1, already ahead of Jailer's full first-day haul. Trade sees a ₹2.5-3 crore opening.

Jailer 2 Hindi takes ₹0.57 cr by noon

Hindi run opens stronger than the original

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 needed only a few morning hours to pass a milestone from its predecessor. By 12:30 p.m. on its opening day, the Hindi version had collected ₹0.57 crore net, according to trade updates cited by Filmibeat. The original Jailer had managed ₹0.35 crore in Hindi across its entire first day in 2023.

Hindi morning occupancy stood at 21.42%, even though trade expert Sumit Kadel called the Hindi advance booking “dismal” because the film is not available at PVR Inox, Cinepolis and other major multiplex chains.

The day-one prediction

Kadel told Filmibeat that the Hindi version is set to open in the ₹2.5-3 crore net range. If it lands there, the sequel will finish more than 750% above the first film’s Hindi opening day—a huge jump for a dubbed-market release.

For Bollywood audiences, the Hindi version is the real litmus test outside the film’s core Tamil market. The original Jailer was a 2023 hit, but its Hindi opening was modest, so this kind of leap would show how much the franchise has grown.

Here is where the film stands in numbers:

  • ₹0.57 crore — Hindi collection by 12:30 p.m. on Day 1.
  • 21.42% — Hindi morning occupancy.
  • ₹2.5-3 crore — predicted Hindi Day 1 net range.
  • ₹100 crore — expected worldwide opening day total, per Sumit Kadel.

Franchise pull, cameos and the evening test

Jailer 2 brings Rajinikanth back as Tiger under director Nelson Dilipkumar, with a cast that includes Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mithun Chakraborty, S. J. Suryah and Vidya Balan. Hrithik Roshan and Vijay Sethupathi appear in special roles, adding star power for the Hindi audience. The film has opened in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada.

Film critic Ramesh Bala gave the film five stars and called it “A MASS ENTERTAINER that delivers everything fans could possibly ask for”. That word-of-mouth, rather than advance sales, will decide whether the morning’s ₹0.57 crore becomes the predicted ₹2.5-3 crore by close of day.

For fans, this is also Rajinikanth’s first big-screen outing of the year, which is adding to the excitement around the sequel.
