The second trailer of Udta Teer is out, and it wastes no time establishing the film’s central promise: a patriotic comedy that keeps changing lanes. Headlined by Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, the new cut stresses comic situations, action beats and sudden turns.
That mix is not an accident. The film is being positioned as a genre-bender, one that aims to give audiences a different take on the patriotic template rather than follow a straight dramatic path.
The pitch from Ayushmann
Ayushmann Khurrana framed the film around its premise, not any single sequence. In a statement carried by Bollywood Hungama, he said:
“Just when you think you know where Udta Teer is going, it takes another turn.”
He added that the “real hero” of the project is its blend of patriotic, action and comedy elements, a combination he believes viewers have not quite seen in this form. That is a strong signal from a star known for exploring different genres.
The team behind the ride
Alongside Ayushmann and Sara Ali Khan, the film carries a deep supporting cast:
- Mukul Dev, Ram Kapoor and Rahul Bose
- Raghubir Yadav and Brijendra Kala
- Gulshan Grover, Suhail Nayyar and Supriya Pilgaonkar
Written and directed by Akash A. Kaushik, Udta Teer is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain under the banners of Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment.
What it means for fans
For followers of Hindi cinema, the second trailer is a tone-check before the theatrical release. Fans who follow Ayushmann’s genre choices will still find humour here, while the action and patriotic notes aim to widen the film’s pull.
The promise of late twists also tells audiences something about the marketing: the makers would rather sell the feeling of unpredictability than give away the plot. That could keep conversations alive right up to release.
The second trailer also functions as a roll call of seasoned character actors, which gives the comedy room to breathe beyond the leads. Their presence suggests ensemble-driven humour rather than a two-star showcase.
Udta Teer arrives with a crowded cast and a producer-director combination that blends mainstream polish with indie energy. The new trailer suggests that unpredictability, not just star power, is meant to be the draw.
