Rohit Shetty is already looking ahead to a packed 2027, but his next announcement is not a film he is directing. It is a launch pad: Krithi Shetty’s first Hindi film as a leading lady, directed by Shetty’s long-time associate Vidhi Ghodgaonkar.
The project has gone on floors and is titled Hum Tere Pyaar Mein. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The title is apt for the story and, moreover, it has an old-school touch and charm, which is sure to appeal to audiences across age groups.”
From assistant director to director
Vidhi Ghodgaonkar has spent 17 years learning the Rohit Shetty template. She has been an assistant director on some of the biggest mainstream hits of the last decade and a half, and now steps up to call the shots on a love story.
Her credits include:
- Assistant director: Golmaal 3, Singham, Bol Bachchan, Chennai Express, Singham Returns, Dilwale, Golmaal Again, Simmba and Indian Police Force
- Associate director: Cirkus
- Writing team: Sooryavanshi, Cirkus, Indian Police Force and Singham Again
The film is produced by Abhishek S Vyas under the AVS Studios banner, in association with Tudip Entertainment.
Krithi Shetty’s Bollywood turn
Krithi Shetty is not walking into Hindi cinema cold. She appeared in a small role in Super 30 (2019), then became a leading name in Telugu cinema with Uppena (2021). Since then, she has built a career across Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films, including Shyam Singha Roy, Bangarraju, Custody, Manamey and ARM.
With Hum Tere Pyaar Mein, she takes the full-fledged Hindi lead slot, backed by one of the most commercially reliable names in the business.
Why this announcement matters
Rohit Shetty rarely lends his name to small projects. His presentation gives the film instant visibility and signals a push for a mass-friendly romance. The title’s old-school feel is a deliberate throwback, and the combination of a South star and a first-time director gives the project a fresh energy.
For fans, this is one to watch before the first look arrives. It also sits alongside Shetty’s own 2027 commitments: Golmaal 5 and Maria IPS, starring John Abraham as former top cop Rakesh Maria.
