When the makers of Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 changed its release date on October 13, they did more than move a film. They placed a much-loved comedy sequel in the middle of the one window Bollywood usually leaves alone: Salman Khan’s Eid.
T-Series has shifted the film from August 28, 2026 to March 5, 2027. That is less than a week before Eid, which is expected to fall on Wednesday, March 10, 2027. Salman Khan’s Monster is already slotted for an Eid 2027 release. If Monster holds to the Wednesday date, the two films arrive five days apart. If Monster moves to Friday, March 5, it becomes a direct clash.
A rare challenge to Salman’s Eid window
The last time a film took on a Salman Khan Eid release in any meaningful way was Bodyguard in 2011. That film arrived on August 31 alongside Mummy Punjabi and Bol, while That Girl In Yellow Boots opened two days later.
Since then, Salman’s Eid releases have largely had the frame to themselves:

Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees was once discussed against Sultan in 2016, but it ultimately moved to Republic Day 2017. That only underlines how uncommon this sort of date play has become.
Why the sequel has fans watching
The original Khosla Ka Ghosla from 2006 became a cult hit, and it is remembered for helping spark the “Delhi wave” in Hindi cinema with its relatable middle-class story and quirky characters. A sequel brings back Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Ranvir Shorey, Parvin Dabas, Tara Sharma and Kiran Juneja. Joining them are Ravi Kishan, Divya Khossla, Nishant Verma, Kangan Baruah Nangia and Danish Iqbal.
The film is directed by Priya Mishra and Prashant Bhagia, and produced by T-Series Films and Tandav Films.
What happens next
Fans do not have to choose sides yet. Monster’s final date will settle whether this becomes a same-day contest or a five-day gap. Either way, Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 has stepped into a frame that no Hindi film has meaningfully tested in 16 years.
The first week of March 2027 now shapes up as the strongest test of Salman Khan’s Eid pull in a long time.
