The 2026 Hindi box office has a clear leader. As of 12 October 2026, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is the highest grossing Bollywood release of the year, with Sacnilk estimating a worldwide gross of about Rs 1,813 crore. That total includes Rs 1,375.39 crore from India and Rs 438 crore from overseas.
Ranveer Singh’s five-language spy sequel also recorded a Rs 90 crore opening day for its Hindi version and a Rs 649 crore first week, according to Bollywood Hungama. The gap between it and the number two film is more than Rs 1,300 crore, which tells you how unusual its run has been.
The 2026 leaderboard
Sacnilk’s estimates, checked on 12 October, put five Hindi films past Rs 300 crore worldwide:
- Dhurandhar: The Revenge — Rs 1,813.39 crore worldwide
- Border 2 — Rs 450.19 crore worldwide, opened ahead of Republic Day weekend
- Hanuman Ansh — Rs 435.37 crore worldwide after an opening day of just Rs 0.10 crore
- Drishyam: The Conclusion — Rs 383.60 crore worldwide in seven days, still running
- Mirzapur The Movie — Rs 339.55 crore worldwide, the streaming franchise’s big-screen test
For fans, that is a rare mix: a spy sequel, a war drama, a faith-led sleeper, an Ajay Devgn thriller and a streaming spin-off making up the top five. Drishyam: The Conclusion is the newest entry and still adding daily collections, so its final spot may change.
Further down the list, Bhooth Bangla closed around Rs 259 crore worldwide per Pinkvilla, Dhamaal 4 earned Rs 230.17 crore, Awarapan 2 Rs 213.01 crore and Welcome To The Jungle Rs 192.75 crore. Cocktail 2 sits at number ten on its Rs 92.09 crore India figure because no confirmed worldwide total was available.
Franchises and slow burners
Eight of the top ten are sequels or part of an established franchise. That list runs from Border 2 and Dhamaal 4 to Drishyam: The Conclusion. The standout exception in style is Hanuman Ansh: it grew from a tiny opening to more than Rs 334 crore India net in Sacnilk’s count, proving a film can build for weeks instead of relying on a big first day.
Hindi cinema had a strong third quarter too. Sacnilk’s report says Hindi films collected Rs 997.20 crore net in India between July and September, more than any other Indian language, with August alone at Rs 459.18 crore net.
Why every site shows a different number
Trade estimates rarely match because trackers use different definitions and data sources. India net removes GST, while worldwide figures are usually gross. Some trackers add dubbed versions; others list only the Hindi version. Sacnilk’s Rs 1,149.30 crore India net for Dhurandhar: The Revenge covers all five languages, while Bollywood Hungama lists Rs 1,108.09 crore for the Hindi version alone.
That does not make the numbers unreliable — it makes the ranking more useful than the exact rupee total. For running films, read figures as so-far totals and check the last-updated date before quoting a milestone.
