Ramayana Part 1 locks November 5 release; bookings on Dussehra

Nitesh Tiwari's epic confirms a worldwide November 5 theatrical date, with advance bookings on Dussehra, IMAX and a five-language rollout.

Ramayana Part 1 gets November 5 worldwide release

Ramayana: Part One finally has a single theatrical date. After weeks of mixed signals, the makers confirmed on Sunday that the Nitesh Tiwari epic will arrive in cinemas worldwide on November 5, with advance bookings opening on Dussehra.

What the announcement says

In an Instagram post on October 11, the team shared a new poster and confirmed that the first part of the two-film saga will play across all premium formats. The post tied the opening to the festive calendar, describing it as ‘the beginning of Ram’s era’.

For fans who had been trying to plan around two or three possible dates, that line is effectively the official answer: one worldwide opening date, with tickets going live on Dussehra.

Why there was confusion

An international trailer distributed by Sony Pictures had listed November 6 as the worldwide date. Producer Namit Malhotra had earlier spoken of a Diwali release in India, and some reports suggested paid previews could begin on November 4.

The new confirmation overrides those strands. Sony Pictures will distribute globally outside India, while Dharma Productions handles the Hindi-speaking market.

The rollout, at a glance

  • Worldwide release: November 5, 2026
  • Advance bookings: Open on Dussehra
  • Languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam
  • Formats: Premium formats and IMAX
  • Part Two: Set for Diwali 2027

Why the single date matters

For a project of this scale, a unified global date changes how fans and exhibitors prepare. Instead of separate India and overseas schedules, audiences everywhere can target the same opening day, and the festive Dussehra booking window gives the release a clear on-sale moment.

The clarification also aligns the distribution map. Sony Pictures will handle global markets outside India, while Dharma Productions will lead the Hindi-speaking belt. With one confirmed date, both can now push the same opening message instead of correcting an old trailer listing.

The cast includes Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. Prime Focus Studios, DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations are producing the epic.

What to do before opening day

If you want opening-day seats, mark Dussehra and book as soon as tickets go live. IMAX and premium shows for an event film of this size tend to move quickly, especially in major cities. With Part Two already slated for Diwali 2027, November 5 is the start of a longer theatrical arc.
