Ganesh: Dust To Stardust trailer sets Dec 11 release

The trailer of Ganesh: Dust To Stardust, based on choreographer Ganesh Acharya's life, is out; the film releases in cinemas on December 11, 2026.

Ganesh: Dust To Stardust opens Dec 11

Ganesh Acharya has released the first trailer of Ganesh: Dust To Stardust, the biographical drama based on his own journey. Acharya has written and directed the film, which will open in cinemas on December 11, 2026.

What the trailer shows

The film follows Acharya from his early years to his place as one of Hindi cinema’s most visible choreographers. The trailer focuses on the struggles, sacrifices and determination behind that rise, and the role dance played in it. The cast includes Shivanshu Soni, Alok Shaw, Sukanya Kalan and Sakshi Pawaskar.

Acharya has said the film is built on the belief that chasing a dream demands hard work and sacrifice. His daughter Soundarya Acharya, who produces the project, has said it is also about holding on to ambition when circumstances are difficult.

A career measured in songs

For fans, the choreographer’s filmography is already a playlist. He began working as a choreographer in the 1990s and went on to shape several dance hits, including:

  • Beedi Jalaile from Omkara
  • Chikni Chameli from Agneepath
  • Malhari from Bajirao Mastani

His National Film Awards for choreography came for Hawan Kund from Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Gori Tu Lath Maar from Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. As a director, his earlier credits include Swami and Money Hai Toh Honey Hai.

Why this trailer matters

A filmmaker turning the camera on his own career is still an unusual move in Hindi cinema. It puts the person behind the camera in front of it, and it asks audiences to see the work that went into the songs they already celebrate.

The trailer got a push from two major stars. Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn both shared it on social media. Kumar said his association with Acharya is a long one, and that the choreographer’s first song as a choreographer was for one of Kumar’s films.

What to do before December 11

With the release exactly two months away, now is a good time to revisit Acharya’s biggest songs and see the craft the film is built on.

The film is presented by V2S Production & Entertainment and produced by Soundarya Acharya. The screenplay and dialogues are by Digangana Suryavanshi and Ganesh Acharya, with music by Junaid Kumar, lyrics by Sameer Anjaan and Acharya, cinematography by Ajay Pandey and editing by Rakesh Ram.
