Shashwat Sachdev's Dhurandhar The Revenge soundtrack is in the 2027 Grammy race across nine categories, from global music to dance.

Dhurandhar's soundtrack enters 2027 Grammy race in 9 categories

Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar The Revenge is chasing more than box office numbers. B62 Studios has entered the film’s soundtrack, composed by Shashwat Sachdev, in the 2027 Grammy race with submissions across nine categories.

The studio announced the campaign on social media and thanked listeners for the album’s response. The Ranveer Singh-led spy thriller is backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios; T-Series produced the music.

Which categories are in play

The album has been positioned as a cross-genre project, not just a film soundtrack. Its widest submission is Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. The announced entries include:

  • Kanhaiyya — Best Global Music Performance
  • Jaan Se Guzarte Hai — Best Global Music Performance
  • Aari Aari — Best Asian Pop Music Performance
  • Phir Se — Best Song Written for Visual Media
  • Jaiye Sajana — Pop Duo/Group Performance
  • Vaari Jaavan — Best Dance/Electronic Recording

That spread places individual tracks in front of very different Grammy voting blocs, from global music to dance/electronic.

Why this is unusual for Hindi film music

Hindi film albums rarely run formal Grammy campaigns across this many fields. Indian film music has global reach through streaming, reels and diaspora audiences, but an awards push needs deliberate category strategy and outreach to Recording Academy voters.

The film’s scale and action-driven tone helped the album stand out. Alongside Ranveer Singh, the cast includes Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun and Danish Pandor.

The fan side of the push

For fans, the categories tell a story about the album’s sound. The fact that Kanhaiyya and Jaan Se Guzarte Hai are both in Best Global Music Performance, while Vaari Jaavan sits in the dance/electronic field, shows the soundtrack is being presented as a playlist of singles rather than one uniform score.

That is a modern way for Bollywood music to travel: individual tracks can build their own audience and then carry the parent film’s album into award conversations.

What happens next

A submission is only the first step. The entries must pass through the Recording Academy’s voting process before nominations are confirmed. If the album lands a nomination, it could become a reference point for future Hindi film soundtrack campaigns; if not, the push already shows how a label can position film music beyond the release weekend.

Until then, the campaign keeps Dhurandhar The Revenge in the global awards conversation and gives Shashwat Sachdev’s work an international stage.
