Emraan Hashmi’s action romance Gunmaaster G9 now has a clear route to cinemas outside India. Phars Films has acquired the film’s overseas theatrical distribution rights, giving the Aditya Datt directorial a partner for international markets ahead of its worldwide release on November 27, 2026.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the deal on social media, calling Phars Film “one of the leading names in Overseas distribution.” The financial terms of the overseas acquisition have not been disclosed.
One film, two distributors
With Phars Films on board internationally and PEN Marudhar already holding the all-India theatrical rights, Gunmaaster G9 now has its distribution map in place on both sides of the border.

For a commercial Hindi film, that split is practical: the overseas partner knows local release calendars, screen counts and marketing rhythms, while the Indian distributor focuses on the home market. Music and star power in the mix
The distribution announcement arrives while the film’s promotional campaign is already moving. The teaser and first song, ‘Afsaana Banaaya Aapne’, have been released, pairing Hashmi with composer-singer Himesh Reshammiya. The project also reunites Hashmi, Reshammiya and director Aditya Datt, who first worked together in 2005.
The cast includes Genelia D’Souza, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Singh alongside Hashmi. Producers Deepak Mukut, Hunar Mukut and Sangeeta Ahir present the film under Soham Rockstar Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., with SRE Studio LLP producing.
What this signals
An overseas distribution tie-up this close to release usually signals that exhibitors and distributors see enough commercial potential in the film to commit to a wide international rollout. It does not guarantee box office, but it removes a practical hurdle: the film now has channels to book screens and market itself across territories outside India.
The next test is audience response. With action, romance and a Himesh Reshammiya soundtrack in the package, Gunmaaster G9 is positioned as a mass-friendly theatrical play. Its performance will ultimately be judged when cinemas open for it on 27 November.
