Vivek Oberoi wishes Yash before Ramayana opens Nov 5

Mumbai: Days before one of the most anticipated Indian epics of the year reaches cinemas, Vivek Oberoi has sent a public good-luck note to Yash, the actor playing Ravana in Ramayana. The message lands as part one of Nitesh Tiwari’s two-part adaptation prepares for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026.

A note from ‘Ravana’s Lanka’

Oberoi shared the note on social media, saying he was posting from what he called “Ravana’s Lanka.” He described Yash as his “on-screen brother-in-law and real-life brother” and added that he would be in Mumbai for the screening.

That family reference is not simply a caption detail: the two actors share an on-screen connection as brothers-in-law. Oberoi’s message uses that bond to add warmth just as the film’s release-week conversation begins to build.

What the release is working with

The project is being positioned as a pan-India release: a film intended to open across multiple Indian language markets simultaneously, rather than in one territory. Casting Yash as Ravana puts a star with a dedicated audience at the centre of the story.

Yash is also handling more than performance. His banner, Monster Mind Creations, is producing the film alongside Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios, and his company is distributing the title in Karnataka. That gives him both a creative and a commercial stake in how the film performs.

Ramayana’s key cast

  • Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram
  • Sai Pallavi as Sita
  • Yash as Ravana
  • Sunny Deol as Hanuman
  • Ravie Dubey as Lakshman

Part one opens in cinemas on November 5, 2026, while part two is planned for Diwali 2027. For fans, the two-film structure means the story will be told at scale; for the producers, it is a long project with two separate opening weekends to protect.

Why a good-luck note matters

It would be easy to file Oberoi’s post under routine social-media courtesy. In release week, though, these gestures have a practical side: they generate coverage without a new trailer, song or poster, and they keep the title in the conversation while advance booking interest is being measured.

If you are planning a cinema trip, the first part arrives this week. Part two’s Diwali 2027 slot leaves a long runway for the first chapter’s reception to shape the second.
