Jailer 2 Hindi At Rs 42.65 Cr After Week 2, Short Of Rs 50 Cr

Jailer 2's Hindi version added Rs 1.2 crore on day 14, taking its two-week total to Rs 42.65 crore. It is expected to near Rs 45 crore on day 15.

Jailer 2 Hindi Holds Steady At Rs 42.65 Crore, Misses Rs 50 Crore

Jailer 2, Rajinikanth’s pan-India sequel directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, has finished its second week in the Hindi market with a steady hold but without touching the Rs 50 crore mark. According to trade data cited by Filmibeat, the Hindi version added Rs 1.2 crore on day 14, taking its two-week total to Rs 42.65 crore.

What the Hindi numbers look like

The second Wednesday was consistent with the film’s week-two trend, but the Hindi total is still short of the Rs 50 crore milestone that trade watchers were tracking. On day 15, early estimates suggest the film will earn between Rs 90 lakh and Rs 1 crore in Hindi, moving it close to Rs 45 crore. The film had collected Rs 17 lakh from 1,179 Hindi shows so far on that day, according to the report.

  • Day 14 Hindi collection: Rs 1.2 crore
  • Two-week Hindi total: Rs 42.65 crore
  • Day 15 early estimate: Rs 90 lakh to Rs 1 crore
  • Worldwide total after two weeks: Rs 755.5 crore
  • Overseas total after two weeks: Rs 260.5 crore

A sequel with a star-heavy ensemble

The film continues the world of Jailer (2023), with Rajinikanth leading a cast that includes Mithun Chakraborty, Ramya Krishnan, S. J. Suryah, Yogi Babu, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Mirnaa, Vidya Balan and Rithvik. Nelson Dilipkumar returns as director. That scale is part of why the five-language release was so widely tracked, especially in the Hindi market where a dubbed version competes directly with mainstream Bollywood releases.

The larger run is much bigger

While the Hindi version is still catching up, the overall box office story for Jailer 2 is enormous. The film has become the highest-grossing Tamil film of all time and is now the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2026. It released in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, which is reflected in its worldwide total.

On day 14, Jailer 2 earned Rs 2.5 crore in overseas markets, taking its two-week overseas total to Rs 260.5 crore. The total worldwide collection stood at Rs 755.5 crore.

Why this matters for Hindi audiences

For Bollywood fans, the Hindi version’s pace is the key local signal. A steady hold matters, but a total below Rs 50 crore after two weeks shows the film is relying more on its Tamil and overseas strength than on the Hindi belt. Released in five languages, it has been by far the biggest Tamil grosser of the year. It would be a mistake to read the Hindi total alone as a sign of weak demand; rather, it shows the Hindi market is a smaller slice of a much larger pie.

Still, the Hindi run is not over. The next few days will show whether it can push towards Rs 50 crore in week three or settle into a longer tail.
