Dhurandhar actor Vivek Sinha has joined the cast of Nani’s Telugu action drama Bloody Romeo, the latest Hindi film name to move into Telugu cinema while the camera is already rolling.
The casting
Bloody Romeo has commenced shooting with director Sujeeth, whose earlier films include Saaho and They Call Him OG. According to reports, Sinha has joined the production’s ongoing schedule and is said to be playing a pivotal part.
The project is an action comedy set in London and India, and it is expected to reach theatres in the second half of 2027.
Why audiences know Vivek Sinha
Sinha began with supporting roles in Dilli Dark and Modi Ji Ki Beti and in the series Tandav. His breakthrough came with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar films, in which he played Zahoor Mistry. The performance was noted for its simmering menace and the way he held scenes with minimal dialogue. He returned to the role in Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
Earlier this year, after facing social media criticism for playing a terrorist, Sinha defended the work by saying that cinema reflects real-world characters and social issues. He also joked about the absurdity of expecting filmmakers to cast an actual terrorist from Pakistan for such scenes.
Hindi actors are crossing over
Sinha is not making the trip alone. Telugu cinema’s recent casting calls include several Hindi performers:
- Gulshan Devaiah is reported to be playing a negative role in Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Maa Inti Bangaram.
- Raghav Juyal appears in Nani’s The Paradise as a ruthless political aspirant.
- Anurag Kashyap has taken a role in Dacoit and is also connected to Chiranjeevi’s Kaaka.
They follow established crossover names such as Sanjay Dutt, Bobby Deol, Emraan Hashmi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
What this means for Hindi film fans
For Bollywood followers, the news matters because the talent pipeline now runs both ways more often. A recognisable Hindi face can help a Telugu action comedy travel to pan-India audiences, and the same audiences get to see a performer they already know in a new film-industry context.
Nani’s slate already includes The Paradise, and Bloody Romeo adds another Sujeeth-directed project built with scale in mind. Sinha’s casting fits that wider reach: he arrives with a recent duology behind him and a role that puts him in the middle of a star-driven Telugu production.
The second-half 2027 release window gives the film room to build through production and post-production; if the schedule stays on track, the first look and trailer should arrive closer to release. For now, the casting itself signals that Bloody Romeo is being shaped for an audience beyond Telugu-speaking markets.
