Jailer 2 Hindi Crosses Coolie Lifetime at Rs 38.55 Cr

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has cleared a notable benchmark in the Hindi market. The film added Rs 3.15 crore on day 11, its second Sunday, taking the Hindi version’s total to Rs 38.55 crore, according to Sacnilk trade figures cited by Filmibeat.

That pushes the sequel past the Hindi lifetime collection of Coolie, which stood at Rs 37.23 crore. The margin is narrow, but it is a genuine second-weekend result rather than an opening-weekend flash.

The day-11 numbers

  • Day 11 (second Sunday): Rs 3.15 crore
  • Hindi total after day 11: Rs 38.55 crore
  • Coolie Hindi lifetime: Rs 37.23 crore
  • 11-day worldwide total: Rs 710.35 crore
  • Overseas total: Rs 243.5 crore

The Hindi version is one part of a wider multi-language run. Jailer 2 released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada, and has been positioned as a major theatrical event after the 2023 blockbuster Jailer.

Why the Hindi milestone matters

Passing the Hindi lifetime of another recent Rajinikanth release matters because it shows the sequel is holding beyond its core Tamil base. The Hindi version is not simply riding the original’s goodwill; it is converting a second Sunday into a real box-office result.

Film critic Sumit Kadel wrote that Jailer 2 is “in no way inferior to its predecessor,” and that “the first half alone is enough to drive the audience crazy.” The larger cast has helped the buzz too, with Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, S. J. Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty and Vidya Balan among the key names.

The Hindi run is also a useful reminder of how dubbed versions are now treated as separate box-office stories. For Rajinikanth, the Tamil original still drives the largest share, but a Hindi version that can outlast a recent comparable release gives the film a second market to work with beyond the opening weekend.

What comes next

Day 12 is a working day, so trade reports expect a dip. The projection for the Hindi version is Rs 1-1.5 crore for the day, and the report notes it had already earned Rs 36 lakh by 2 pm.

If the weekday lands in that range, Jailer 2 should be close to the Rs 40 crore mark in Hindi shortly. The wider run remains strong: the report put the India figure at Rs 400 crore so far, with Rs 243.5 crore overseas and a worldwide total of Rs 710.35 crore in 11 days.
