Prabhas’ Fauzi Locks 19 March 2027 Release With New Glimpse

The period action film from Hanu Raghavapudi will open in six languages, with Prabhas as a rebel soldier in a World War II-set story.

Prabhas' Fauzi locks 19 March 2027 with a secret file

Prabhas is stepping onto a very different battlefield. On his 47th birthday, the team behind Fauzi dropped a promo called ‘File No. 25’ and confirmed that the period action film will open in cinemas on 19 March 2027. The announcement gives the film a clear window after months of speculation.

Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, Fauzi places the Baahubali star inside a World War II-era story of rebellion and intelligence work. Mythri Movie Makers produces the film, and T-Series Films presents it. The producers are Naveen Yerneni, Y. Ravi Shankar and Bhushan Kumar.

What the glimpse shows

The teaser does not open with an action beat. It begins in Berlin, dated 29 May 1942, then makes a reference to a meeting between Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Adolf Hitler. From there it introduces Prabhas as an Indian rebel soldier whose identity, intelligence and mission are tied to a secret file called File No. 25.

His entry is the high point: a vintage, military-inspired look, an intense expression and a weapon in hand. A short dialogue positions the character as someone who refuses to bow to British rule. The makers are clear that this is a fictional story inspired by the period, not a documentary-style account.

The file framing is a smart tease. It gives the audience a question to carry — what does File No. 25 mean? — without giving away the mission.

An ambitious six-language canvas

The release plan says a lot about the scale. Fauzi is being readied in:

  • Telugu
  • Hindi
  • Tamil
  • Kannada
  • Malayalam
  • Bengali

Vishal Chandrashekhar is composing the music. Alongside Prabhas, the cast includes Imanvi as the female lead, with Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada and Bhanu Chander in important roles.

Why the date matters

Prabhas has built a pan-India following through large-scale action and fantasy: Baahubali, Saaho, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire and Kalki 2898 AD. Fauzi is a change of register. The World War II backdrop, the secret mission and the rebellion theme give it a period-action identity that can stand apart from his recent work.

Earlier chatter had pointed to a 2026 release. Pushing the film to 19 March 2027 gives the team more room to finish a multi-language, period production. For Imanvi, it is a major theatrical platform opposite one of India’s biggest stars. For Hindi film fans, it means another Prabhas release built for a single, big opening rather than a limited regional run.

What to expect next

No dates have been announced for the full trailer, songs or advance booking. Those steps will matter. A glimpse can build curiosity, but the film will finally be judged on screenplay, action design, music and how the historical references are handled. For now, fans have a clear date to mark.
