Pragya Jaiswal is gearing up for Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak, an upcoming Hindi crime thriller and her first film with Sunny Deol. Usually a new pairing is the headline. Here, the actress says the script came first.
Jaiswal told Bollywood Hungama that hearing the story led to an instant “yes.” Since the start of her career, she has wanted to be part of films built on strong narratives, and she believes this one will connect with audiences.
“He is super gentle, soft-spoken and respectful.”
Jaiswal used those words for Sunny Deol, and the comment captures why the film already feels different. She expected the star to carry the strict, intimidating energy of his on-screen roles.
The star beyond the characters
Instead, she found someone calm and unassuming who made her feel at ease. It is a small detail, but it tells fans something about the working atmosphere the film is building.
Suspense over scale
Jaiswal describes Suryaa as a crime thriller where the suspense is strong enough to justify the wait. She also points out that this is a genre Deol has not visited in a very long time, making his role a notable departure.
That positioning matters. Instead of selling the film purely on star power, the early word is about story and genre. It suggests the team wants audiences to expect tension and reveals rather than only action beats.
- Suryaa is a crime thriller with suspense worth the wait, Jaiswal says.
- She signed on for the story, not for scale.
- It is her first film with Sunny Deol.
- Deol’s role is a genre return, and her character is “super cute.”
For Hindi cinema fans, the draw is twofold: the suspense of the genre and the curiosity of seeing Deol outside his familiar action image. Jaiswal’s comments are an early positioning note, setting an expectation of a narrative-led thriller rather than an event film built only around the star.
The makers have not announced a date in this conversation, so Suryaa remains one to track as its release plan firms up.
