Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s spy comedy Udta Teer opens in cinemas on October 23, and its advance booking report gives an early look at demand — but it is a snapshot, not a verdict.
Day 1 presales: the headline number
As of 9:00 PM IST on October 22, Sacnilk’s tracker put the film’s opening-day gross advance booking at ₹2.39 crore, including blocked seats. That figure drops to ₹96.76 lakh if blocked seats are kept out.

Delhi NCR is the leading market in the supplied day-one report with ₹55.91 lakh in gross bookings, about 23% of the day’s total. Mumbai is next at ₹27.14 lakh, followed by Pune at ₹11.17 lakh.
Across states, Delhi leads with ₹55.91 lakh, Maharashtra has ₹43.20 lakh and Gujarat ₹27.26 lakh. Bengaluru and Hyderabad are also recording comparatively higher occupancy rates than several other cities.
Why occupancy is the number to watch
The ₹2.39 crore gross figure looks encouraging, but only 6% of tracked seats were filled at snapshot time. Of 6,032 shows, 5,985 still had more than half their seats available, and just 13 were sold out. That leaves plenty of room for late bookings — and also means the film needs a strong walk-in audience on release day.
Weekend presales and what they don’t prove
Across six tracked show dates, including a premiere date, Udta Teer has recorded ₹6.57 crore in reported gross advance bookings; the figure without blocked seats is ₹2.64 crore. Friday accounts for roughly 36% of that total, with Saturday and Sunday also contributing. The report also notes bookings across 283 cities, so presales are not confined to a single market.
Advance sales are not the same as box office collections. Final day-one numbers will include counter sales and same-day online purchases, so the ₹2.39 crore figure should be read as a starting point, not the opening result.
