Radhika Apte’s 6th Netflix title comes with a meeting room

At the Akka trailer launch, Netflix revealed a meeting room named after Radhika Apte. Akka marks her sixth Netflix title and releases October 30.

Radhika Apte's 6th Netflix title, and a room of her own

At the Akka trailer launch in Mumbai, Netflix India Series Head Tanya Bami shared a detail that turns a long-running internet joke into office real estate: one of the streamer’s meeting rooms is named after Radhika Apte.

Radhika Apte called the moment a homecoming and said she genuinely felt at home back on the service. For years, fans joked that almost every Netflix title features her, and she was asked so often about her streaming ubiquity that people wanted to know whether she held shares in the company.

“Of course I don’t hold shares on Netflix,” she said at the launch, laughing. She added that people would still tell her she did, and co-star Keerthy Suresh suggested she should simply claim that she owns the service.

Tanya Bami explained that the office’s meeting rooms are usually named after shows, but one room is named after the actor. Radhika said she was proud when she saw it, and that she once sat there for a discussion.

Why the room reveal matters

The gesture is more than a fun anecdote. Radhika Apte’s presence became shorthand for Netflix India’s early original slate, and the room is a small piece of brand culture built from the way audiences actually talked about the platform. Instead of deflecting the joke, Netflix has absorbed it into its workspace.

Her return also carries a slightly different weight now. The room name is a signal that long-running collaborators can become part of a service’s internal identity, not just its catalogue.

Akka in her Netflix filmography

Akka brings Radhika Apte back for a sixth Netflix title. Her earlier collaborations include:

  • Lust Stories
  • Raat Akeli Hai
  • Monica O My Darling
  • Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders

The new show pairs her with Keerthy Suresh in a gangster drama directed by Dharmaraj Shetty, with YRF’s Yogendra Mogre as executive producer. It releases on October 30.

What to do before it drops

If you want to catch up, the older Radhika Apte titles listed above are already on Netflix, and the Akka trailer is out now. The launch moment also gives a glimpse of the easy chemistry between the two leads before their on-screen face-off arrives.

For fans of Hindi cinema, this is the kind of detail that makes a trailer event memorable: a business update, a reunion and a nod to the audience’s own jokes all in one.
