The investigation into the firing incident involving Tiger Shroff has taken a sharp turn. Mumbai Crime Branch has said the actor was not the attackers’ first choice, reframing a case that had alarmed fans and the industry.
Speaking to ANI, the Crime Branch said, “Tiger Shroff was not the shooters’ original target.” The three accused had been looking at a bigger star first, the agency added, but that celebrity’s security was too tight for them to act.
Salman Khan was Plan A
According to NDTV, the original target was Salman Khan. The shooters allegedly conducted a recce of Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, where the actor lives. However, the visible police presence and security arrangements around the building made it impossible to carry out the plan.
When that route failed, the accused were reportedly told to look for other Bollywood names with lighter protection. Tiger Shroff, seen as more accessible, became the next option. The agency said the shooters “opened fire at him instead.”
Other star homes were surveyed
Investigators said the accused also surveyed the residences of Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan. They posed as tourists exploring Mumbai to avoid suspicion, and moved around the city in an auto-rickshaw and on a motorcycle belonging to one accused, named Hrithik.
