Two weeks before its 5 November release, Ramayana: Rise of a Legend has already sold ₹4.78 crore worth of tickets in India. That total comes from 83,412 tickets across 3,492 shows, as of 7 AM on 21 October, according to Sacnilk.
The figure includes block seats; excluding them, the national total stands at ₹2.97 crore. Between 6 AM and 7 AM alone, bookings added ₹2.09 lakh, a small but steady pulse before the full rollout opens.
Hindi leads India, but overseas is ahead
Hindi versions account for ₹4.53 crore of the India advance — roughly 95%. Kannada adds ₹24.43 lakh and Telugu just ₹48,700, a sign that the dubbed versions are still waking up.
Overseas, the picture is bigger. Pre-sales had reached $1.3 million (₹12.3 crore) across four countries by late 20 October, according to Films Discourse. That covers 87,921 tickets; collections rose $180,000 since the previous update.
- NCR leads Indian markets with ₹1.39 crore from 18,225 tickets.
- Mumbai follows with ₹97.29 lakh from 14,228 tickets.
- Pune is at ₹26.80 lakh (4,082 tickets), Kolkata ₹20.94 lakh (4,002), and Bengaluru ₹18.75 lakh (4,030).
Bengaluru sold more tickets than Kolkata, but Kolkata still recorded a higher collection.
Why the full India rollout is still pending
The national advance is not fully open. Sacnilk reports a standoff over revenue sharing: distributors want 60% in week one, up from the usual 52.5%, then 50% in week two (versus 45%) and 40% in week three (versus 37.5%). Exhibitors are hesitant because their own share would shrink.
That negotiation matters for fans: until terms are settled, many shows remain unlisted, so the India number understates demand. A fan projection of a ₹147.1 crore opening, circulating on Films Discourse, is not a booking figure — it is a prediction.
What to watch next
The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Ravi Dubey and Yash. If the revenue-sharing terms land, expect the Hindi advance to surge quickly; overseas momentum is already building, and the gap between the two will show how much upside remains in India.
